Moving Circles and the Passenger Game
The more I do of the passenger game the more I become fond of it. Nancy being a RBI/RBE can bounce very quickly between into either extreme. I was taught some time ago when she is RBE to do moving circles in a large field, she can trot or faster, but not walk. This has an enourmous calming effect on her and I still use it when she is RBE. The passenger game has the same effect on her when I am riding. Anyone who has read all my blogs will know that Nancy gets extremely emotional as she gets faster and in the canter has become so emotional she looses all reason and has "pancaked" on the ground (not for a long time now though). I now put her on the rail and do pushing passenger in the trot and after 2 laps she has calmed herself down and sorted out of her legs. We are now attempting this game at the canter - very wild and wooly with me chatting to her constantly to keep her brain with me (I know, its not recommended but she does respond,) We can now achieve almost 1 lap of an interesting shape, but she is starting to work out what and how to do it and she is very satisfied and calm when we finish that game, and, interestingly is holding her sholders well which has always been one of her evasions, to load and block her sholders - er - sorry not evasion but difficulty with her rider.
