*insert clever phrase here* - Lily's Log #14

Sorry, It's been one helluva week! My husband had to be taken to the emergency room on Sunday for an emergency appendectomy, so not a lot of rest or time for the horses in the last few days. He is fine and recovering well. The surgeon said we came to the hospital in the nick of time, another hour and his appendix most likely would have burst! Whew! Glad that's over! The snow also returned on Sunday, dumping a healthy 24 inches or so in one day, followed immediately by warm, sunny days....This has left the corral looking like one big puddle. UGH! There is not a single dry spot in the entire area! My poor girls! =(

Luckily, I did get out to see them yesterday and played with Lily for a little bit. She was more responsive than anticipated (yes!) so we kept it short and sweet. She is a lot better about respecting my space and is even playing at liberty. Her stick to me is fantastic as long as I keep her thinking. If I stand still too long, she gets bored and starts to wander (kids!). Hopefully we will be able to get more play time in by the weekend.....
